Bassano del Grappa, located at the beginning of the Valsugana valley, is a city of art, history and culture. It owes part of its name to Mount Grappa, a popular tourist attraction where many important historical events have taken place. The town of Bassano and surrounding area is considered the most famous in the world for the production of grappa (the local traditional distillate). The suggested route to visit the city and the Bassano area makes a stop at one of the celebrated artisan distilleries, to learn about the virtues and the secrets of the master distillers. The route then continues in the historic centre of Bassano, to the famous Ponte degli Alpini (designed by Andrea Palladio) and the town squares.
Another point of interest is the visit to the Museum of Ceramics in Nove and some historical workshops, to learn about the art of pottery, a source of pride for this region.
