The Palladian Basilica is the iconic building of Vicenza, the climax of Andrea Palladio’s creativity, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Basilica stands majestically on the south side of Piazza dei Signori, a square which is the heart of the city. From 2007 to 2012, the Palladian Basilica underwent a complex architectural and functional restoration with the dual objective of maintaining the stature and the extraordinary figurative and spatial qualities of the monument, and give back to the city its iconic building, fully functional for the organization of cultural events. In 2012 the Palladian Basilica was returned to the people of Vicenza and transformed into a modern cultural centre, enriched with new civic, cultural and commercial functions.
